Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans is a groundbreaking street art project created by PangeaSeed Foundation members and supporting artists to help bring the beauty and the plight of the world’s oceans into streets around the globe via art and activism; or ARTivism. By collaborating with internationally renowned artists, we come together to create large-scale public murals and organise community-based educational efforts that focus attention on major environmental issues the oceans are currently facing, promoting the importance of long-term sustainability of natural resources.

We are all consumers, and the market responds to every one of our desires, but by becoming a responsible consumer we change the fundamentals of the mass consumption market. For our Sea Walls artwork, Frank & Mimi investigated the "hyper-optimism" that comes from vintage advertorials, and how they're often ironically selling products which are detrimental to both the consumer and the environment. We made a satirical comment about consumption by marrying the typography with a fallen media icon, as the collaged coral begins to reclaim it's natural environment in an effort to regain equilibrium.
